Further explorations in the ongoing saga of perpetual motion and melancholy under that warm California sun. In many ways nothing has changed here, yet somehow these songs seem like they drive even deeper and cast longer shadows. Unlike our previous FWY! release CA 80's-90's, which was a collection of EPs and singles, Hesperia shows FWY! stretch out in a 10 song, 48 minute album. This full length treatment only adds to the epic surrender of the project, giving more cohesion and a bit of an arch to the progression of songs. For those of you unfamiliar with our previous release, lead guitarist and producer-extraordinaire for Teenage Panzerkorps and Horrid Red, visionary desert rocker Edmund Xavier records these precious gems under the name FWY! (pronounced FREEWAY). With track titles citing each particular road of inspiration (The 5, The 65, HWY 15, HWY 101), Xavier depicts his own fantastic sensory reminiscence of growing up lost in the deserts of Southern California. Hesperia is thee brave new manifesto in California House music, a seamless blend of desert punk gloom boiling over a hot bed of fluorescent freestyle beats.
