Litüus is the fascinating new minimalist electronic project from Chicago based composer and visual artist Connor Camburn. Much like our recent M.B. release, Litüus seems to come from a cross section of post-kosmische industrial culture and classic contemporary electronic music. Despite the seemingly stark and cold atmosphere of these works, they do not tend towards getting lost in overt anger or nihilism; there is a distinct meditative and almost ceremonial nature underlying each piece which gives a sense of something more secure and serene within these exercises. Over the last few years Camburn has released a series of quality improvised electronics under other aliases, namely Slag Heap. However, Litüus seems to be the ascension of a much more focused and personal approach, leaving us with great anticipation of what the future will hold for Camburn and his newest guise.
