about

On a humid summer's night in Wisconsin, lost in the haunted rows of downtown Madison's student ghetto, from within the candlelit sanctuary of a stark wooden chamber, echoes the inflamed evocations of Kinit Her. One heady evening of improvisation between Nathaniel Ritter and Troy Schafer, with their dear friend Clay Ruby utilizing the musical saw, percussion, steer's horn, vocals, keyboards and systems. With "Living Midnight at the Harvest Abbey", the righteous song structures of previous Kinit Her releases seem to be completely dissolved, a development that we began hearing evidence of with the seething experimentation of last year's "Divine Names". This year we have also seen the debut release of the band Wreathes, the amazing accomplishments of Nathaniel Ritter and Troy Schafer's newest incarnation, which focuses exclusively on their dynamic songwriting and orchestration skills. However, like a secret qliphothic other to the rich developments of Wreathes, Kinit Her continues to live! They lay hidden, smoldering in the shadows. The only phantoms of music left behind is the perpetual ominous throb, the hypnotized rhythms, fractured by violent stroke, fevered by the blushing muse, erupting with the ritual call; each voice choking on it's own twisted tongue and the ancient dust of it's invocations.
