An eerie fog fills our field of vision as the crows perform their foreboding song. The cinematic minimalism of the Hare and the Moon is more wyrd than a witch’s tit. Spanning nearly eighty minutes, Wood Witch wanders among long stretches of arcane space and atmosphere which weave together the generous helpings of antique traditional song. Originally released by Reverb Worship in 2015, to many the musical workings of THATM and their protagonist the Grey Malkin will already be well familiar as a compelling perspective within another brilliant wave of Brythonic psych folk to emanate from the Isles. We were quite honored to strike an agreement for Brave Mysteries to reissue this cult album in our humble boutique catalog. We did a simple analog remaster via our Rupert Neve 5060 Centerpiece mixer and the results are enchanting. Disembodied voices, spectral chamber arrangements, and weary pastoral trance all imbued with the suspense of climbing a haunted barrow as dusk falls over the old country parish. Featuring the spirited assistance of many friends and distant relatives, including the likes of Amanda Votta, Tony Wakeford, Áine O’Dwyer, God’s Little Eskimo, and so forth.
