It seems like every Anna von Hausswolff album is somewhat different than the previous. Although the brilliant song structure, those haunting church organs and the chilling vocals are always the same, something is different at same time. This album is one of calmness and introspection, I'd say. I could also say it's one of her best, but so far everything Anna released is amazing, and this album is not an exception! Gabriel Tamas
I lack the ability to wrap my head around the grunted word portion of this recording. Survive that, and the real show begins when thunderous drums join in... all ham-handed and triumphant. The album begins to devour itself at the end, which is also a nice touch. Pleased to find some more sound weirdos coming out of Wisconsin. Lost Tribe Sound
